Receive Outage Alerts on your mobile phone

Participate in an Outage Alert pilot program administered by our partner, Agent 511, and you can receive text messages that alert you of estimated restoration times and other important outage information affecting your ComEd service. Please note that ComEd does not charge customers for this notification; standard text messaging rates apply.

Program Availability
Space is still available for the program, which is open to the first 10,000 ComEd customers who subscribe and runs through the end of 2009. You can cancel text messaging outage notification anytime by texting the word STOP to COMED (26633).

Are there fees for this service?
There is no additional charge for this service. Standard text messaging rates apply based on your carrier plan. The service works for all major carriers.

How will I know that the enrollment was received and accepted?
Once you have signed up to receive the alerts, you will receive a text message informing you that you have been enrolled. "You have opted in to ComEd's outage and restoration notification service. Standard txtmsg rates apply. Txt STOP to terminate and HELP for info."

What type of messages will I receive?

* Outage has been reported (by you, another customer, or overall system notification)
* Outage has been reported and estimated restore time
* Crew is enroute to repair and estimated restore time
* Crew is on site to repair service and estimated restore time
* Outage has been restored

How often will I receive an alert?
When an outage has been reported, you will receive a message notifying you of the outage. When the estimated restore time is known, you will receive a message with the estimated time. If the estimated restore time changes, then a message will be sent with the new estimated time. When your service is restored, you will receive a message as well. Alerts will be sent during the
hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.

What if I want to stop receiving alerts?
Simply transmit the word STOP. Upon receipt, Agent 511 will immediately stop sending notifications to that number. A confirmation of removal message will be sent. The test message wording will be: "You have successfully unsubscribed to ComEd's outage and restoration notification service."

What if I need help with the subscription to this program?
Simply transmit the word HELP. A "help" message will then be sent with the wording: "ComEd outage and restoration notification service. Standard txtmsg rates apply. Visit www.agent511.com/help or 1-877-511-9511."
