ComEd's Expanded All-Electric Weatherization Assistance Program is among many other initiatives we’ve developed to provide customers with assistance. This weatherization program makes energy-saving improvements for electric space heating, LIHEAP-approved residential customers. No application necessary. Eligible customers are notified by program administrators, or you may apply at one of the Chicago LIHEAP Agencies or Suburban LIHEAP Agencies.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help eligible low-income households pay for winter energy services. LIHEAP is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the state of Illinois.

This program provides free minor home repairs to eligible seniors. The types of repairs it makes include light plumbing, replacing faulty light fixtures or switches, repairing or maintaining weather stripping and caulking, and installing handicap access grab bars and railings.
